Fred Thompson, waiting too long?

I totally agree with Frank Luntz here. I think his popularity has probably peaked and people are wondering if there's any substance to him if he's not willing to get in and at least add something to the debates. I know I am.

I'm a lifelong conservative. I have never voted for a Democrat and never will. I've never voted for a third party candidate.

However, if the GOP nominates Fred Thompson for president, I'll vote third party. I joined the NRA in opposition to McCain-Feingold and stood with the Voices of Citizens Together and California Coalition for Immigration Reform in fighting Spencer Abraham's amendments in 1996.

Fred Thompson and Spencer Abraham served together in the Senate from 1995 to 2001. Spencer Abraham is an open borders icon. In 1997, Spencer Abraham received the "Defender of the Melting Pot" award from the National Council of La Raza, a radical activist pro-illegal immigration lobbying organization that supports racist groups calling for the secession of the western United States as a Hispanic-only homeland. Fred Thompson's 1996 senate immigration voting record is a near carbon copy of Spencer Abraham's.

Americans for Better Immigration (ABI) Report Cards for Abraham and Thompson reflect a career grade of "C" on immigration during their career in the senate. It is interesting to note that Thompson's and Abraham's grades are identical on every subject to include:

Subject & Grade

Reduce Chain Migration = C
Reduce Visa Lottery = C-
Reduce Unnecessary Visas = F
Reduce Fraud: Refugee & Asylum = C-
Reduce Enticement - Illegal Immigration: Amnesties= D
Reduce Illegal Immigration - Anchor Baby Citizenship = No Vote
Reduce Illegal Immigration – Other Awards = A+
Reduce Illegal Immigration – Border Enforcement = A+
Reduce Illegal Immigration – Interior Enforcement =C+

Don't be fooled. Fred Thompson is not the conservative he portrays himself to be.
