McCain Gearing Up For Dirty Campaign

John McCain has signed on several persons responsible for Bush's 2000 primary ads against himself (ads which he criticized at length as dishonest and distorting), he has made the person overseeing last fall's racially questionable ads against Harold Ford, Jr. his national campaign manager, and he has hired the advertising firm responsible for 2004's Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ads against John Kerry. Romney beware?

Little surprise here. I don't know how dirty McCain will get, but this is politics in general. Or perhaps it's a defensive measure, like "keep your friends close and your enemies closer" type of thing.

Personally, I'm not ready to denounce McCain just for signing these people. However, if and when attacks start coming from him, things will be different.

Touche. I'd meant to put a question mark in the title. Ultimately, I think everyone will get their hands somewhat dirty (most already have a little), but I'm hoping things stay civil.
